Knowing how the auction, purchasing, and vehicle shipping works ahead of bidding can avoid a lot of expensive headaches. Frequently Asked Questions
Am I responsible for every bid?
Any bid that is submitted for a vehicle should be treated as a binding offer on that vehicle. Regardless of whether a seller counters your bid, and whether or not you accept the counter, you are still responsible for fulfilling your final bid. Rejecting the purchase at this point will result in a relist fee for the buyer.
What does “Runs and drives” mean?
“Runs and drives” means that at the time the vehicle arrived at the auction yard, it was able to start on its own, shift into gear, and move forward under its own power. This does not guarantee that the vehicle will operate normally.
How long does it take until I can pick up my car?
As soon as your payment is confirmed you will receive pick up instructions.

Can I go pick up my car?
Yes you can. Copart vehicle lots require vehicles to be trailered. You cannot drive the vehicle off the lot. Please review Copart’s vehicle pick up instructions.
How to request a deposit refund?
You can request your deposit be returned to you by navigating to the "Deposit" page in your account on CarProxy and clicking "Request Refund" or by emailing [email protected]. In order for the request to be approved you must be in good standing with your account having no outstanding balance due. Please note: If you paid for your deposit VIA credit card, the process fee portion is non-refundable.
How many days until Copart starts charging late payment fees?

How many days until Copart starts charging storage fees?
Within 3 days of the auction completing storage fees will start being applied.
How long does it take to get my deposit refund?
We process all deposit refunds as soon as possible however the merchant services can take up to 10 days to validate and process deposit returns. We will notify you as soon as we hear from merchant services that your money has been sent to you.
How soon can I bid?
After you’ve registered, uploaded necessary documents, and added a deposit you will be able to log into your seat and start bidding. Please note, ACH deposit take between 1 and 5 days to processed depending on your bank. If you need to make a purchase sooner, you can use your credit card for the deposit (deposit only, car purchases are not allowed with CC). Please contact support and let them know that you need a quick turn around.
